Set your Basic mailbox on Outlook for Mac

Want to use your Basic mailbox in Outlook on your Mac? Follow the steps below to add your mailbox via IMAP.

First create your Basic mailbox and activate it in your control panel. Then add your mailbox in Outlook for Mac.

Add the mailbox in Outlook for Mac

Follow these steps in Outlook for Mac

1. In the top menu bar, click Outlook and select Settings.
2. In the left navigation, click Accounts.
3. On the right, click Add Account.
4. Enter your email address and click Continue.
5. Wait a moment while Outlook tries to find the settings.
6. Choose Sync directly with IMAP (so not via the Microsoft Cloud).
7. Tick Show Advanced Settings.
8. Fill in the missing details:
   • Email address: your full email address
   • IMAP Username: your full email address
   • IMAP Password: your mailbox password
   • IMAP Incoming Server: imap.mailprotect.be
     Set Port to 993 and make sure Use SSL to connect is enabled
   • SMTP Username: your full email address
   • SMTP Password: your mailbox password
   • SMTP Outgoing Server: smtp-auth.mailprotect.be
     Set Port to 587 and choose SmartTLS
9. Click Add account. Your mailbox is now added in Outlook.
